From the highlands of Murang’a County, this Kenya Peaberry showcases the bold, complex profile the region is known for. In the cup, expect rich chocolate layered with honeyed sweetness, balanced by juicy blackberry and tropical mango notes. We bring it to a medium roast, which brings out the coffee’s natural brightness while rounding it into a smooth, satisfying finish.

Grown between 1,600–1,800 masl in nutrient-rich red loamy soil, these peaberries develop slowly at high altitude, concentrating their sugars and deepening flavor. The Gatuya Factory, established in 1962, operates under the Murarandia Farmers’ Cooperative Society and draws from a legacy of careful cultivation and meticulous washed processing.

This lot is made up of prized Kenyan varieties bred for quality, resilience, and exceptional cup character. Peaberries, a natural mutation where only one rounded bean forms inside the cherry, are especially valued for their density and intensity of flavor.

When ready, the coffee is handpicked for ripeness, washed, and sun-dried on raised beds—highlighting the purity of terroir. With its balance of vibrant fruit and rich sweetness, this Kenya PB is a shining example of what makes the country’s coffee so revered around the world.
